ABOUT ME

Having never really enjoyed English as a subject at school I dropped it as soon as I had the chance. My A-levels were all science and mathematics heavy and that was when I realized that I missed writing ("Long answers in Chemistry A-Level just didn't cut it!).

 

Through University I would write the odd article for magazines and enjoyed doing so. I also "wrote" my MSc and PhD theses, but they had to be technical, so whilst the content was interesting (at least to me), and I enjoyed the process of getting my ideas across, the actual written word was probably quite dry.

For the last ten years or so I've been working in finance so "writing" has generally meant boring emails. Along the way came two wonderful kids and I had little time for much else!

I'm hoping to start getting my written words out there again. Look for musings on my blog, articles on medium.com or get hold of my first book here.

Aside from writing, I enjoy woodworking (or DIY in general), gaming (RPG and RTS) and films (especially if you can come away and feel you've learnt something from them). Of course I'd enjoy all of these more if I had time for them but keep an eye out for the odd building project on Instagram.
